Personally, I love to make lists, travel, and be adventurous, so I happily made a bucket list. It’s fun to dream of things you want to do but then make them actually happen! Here are ten iconic items I have crossed off my list if you are searching for ideas for your bucket list.
Hot Air Balloon Ride
A hot air balloon ride is an incredible experience! It is so surreal to just be floating above the landscape. I went on a hot air balloon ride in Spain. About an hour outside of Barcelona, you can find amazing mountain views of Montserrat, so starting the day by flying over the mountains in a basket was quite the experience. Since Barcelona is a popular destination, I booked a tour through Barcelona Balloon Flights. For more information on my excursion, check out my blog post on Barcelona. I definitely recommend this if you aren’t afraid of heights of course.
Go White Water Rafting
White water rafting is a thrilling adventurous activity to add to your bucket list if you haven’t done it already. There are countless places to go white water rafting whether you are in national parks or not. Personally, I went white water rafting with a group of friends between Wisconsin and Michigan. It was a blast!
Snorkel With Sea Turtles
Snorkeling with sea turtles or other marine animals is another fun activity that is bucket-list worthy. I went snorkeling in the bright blue waters of Puerto Rico. I brought an underwater disposable camera on this trip and got some spectacular photos of the sea turtles which I treasure.
Ride in a Helicopter
If you are up for adventure, not many people can say they have ridden in a helicopter. Whether you are in a big city, popular tourist destination, or not, you can usually find a company offering helicopter rides. I am from Michigan and decided to spontaneously book a helicopter for the following day, so I flew over Lake Michigan.
Go Parasailing
If you aren’t sick of flying in the air after a hot air balloon ride and a helicopter ride, parasailing is a fun bucket list item to check off. Parasailing is when you are attached to a sail that flies up in the air behind a boat. I went parasailing with my friend years ago, and it is a great memory to look back on.
Try Snowboarding or Skiing
I like the warm weather, but when there is snow, you have to enjoy it! If you have never been snowboarding or skiing, you should add it to your bucket list! The scene at a ski resort is a vibe for sure. It is a chance to try something new and enjoy the different atmosphere.
Visit Europe
If you have never been to Europe, it should definitely be on your bucket list! For those of you who have already been to Europe, another visit to Europe is always a good idea! So far I have visited Italy, Croatia, France, and Spain, and Italy was my favorite! If you plan a trip to Europe, I have several other blog posts on these countries.
Plan an Island Vacation
When planning an island vacation is an item on your bucket list, it is easy to justify getting on island time. An island vacation can heal you from the inside out! I have been to the Bahamas, Puerto Rico, and some islands off of Bali, Indonesia and Italy. I hope to visit some other islands in the Caribbean soon!
Go to an All-Inclusive Resort
Once your all-inclusive resort is booked, you can just enjoy your vacation and not worry about all the additional details that come with other trips. I went to an all-inclusive resort in Mexico which was amazing! Not every all-inclusive vacation has to break the bank. There are some great and affordable all-inclusive resorts in Mexico and other countries such as the Dominican Republic and Costa Rica.
Visit the U.S. National Parks
The U.S. National Parks are plentiful and so incredible! Whether you want a desert red rock hike, a trip to see wildlife, or to find as many waterfalls as you can, there is a national park trip waiting for you! I will have a blog post coming out on U.S. National Parks in the future, but I would say my top five U.S. National Parks that I have been to so far would be Yellowstone, Grand Canyon, Zion National Park, the Grand Tetons, and Glacier National Park.
Conclusion – Bucket List Ideas
Bucket lists are a great way to keep you motivated and focused on living life and going on fun adventures. These are ten items I have already checked off my bucket list, but of course, I am constantly adding to this list. Next, I hope to go on my first cruise, visit Hawaii, and island hop around Greece.
I hope this list of ideas gave you some inspiration. Tell me your favorite bucket list item you have checked off already in the comments!
