Tampa is a popular destination that is full of city adventures and tropical beach vacation activities to keep you entertained on your trip. Not all of these activities have to break the bank, so here are three free things to do in Tampa.
Visit the manatees
If you want to see some wild manatees, Tampa Electric’s Manatee Viewing Center is a wonderful spot to visit! This viewing center is completely free! Free admission and free parking. This viewing center was built, since this location is home to hundreds of manatees during the right season. After viewing all the manatees from the dock, you can go to the gift shop, walk some trails, and head to the small pool for stingray touching. I am extremely surprised that this excursion is free, so take advantage of it! This is the perfect place to bring children, but it is fun for adults as well!
The address is 6990 Dickman Rd., Apollo Beach, FL 33572. The viewing center is open from November 1 – April 15 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The amount of manatees you will see changes depending on the month, but I visited and saw hundreds of manatees at the beginning of January.
Walk the Tampa Riverwalk
The Tampa Riverwalk is a popular activity for any trip to Tampa. The walk is 2.6 miles long. There are beautiful buildings and boats along the stretch. It makes for a great day out!
Explore Ybor City
Ybor city is a historic neighborhood in Tampa that is centered around 7th Avenue. Ybor City is a cultural area as European, Asian, and Cuban immigrants have settled here. If you are looking for some delicious food, there are several restaurants with Cuban and Latin American cuisine. There are also boutiques, cigar bars, a cinema, and clubs along this stretch. Whether you are looking for a stroll during the day or a night out, Ybor City could be a spot for you.
Conclusion
I hope you enjoy your time exploring Tampa! Thanks for stopping by! Cheers to traveling on a budget and making connections around the world.
