Ibiza Travel Tips

Ibiza has successfully earned its title as a party island with its lively nightlife, but the Balearic island has much more to offer than most people are aware of. First off, Ibiza is absolutely beautiful with incredible beaches and bright blue water. Furthermore, you can find chic shopping districts, high-class restaurants, and various excursions.

If you enjoy parties and are willing to drop hundreds or thousands of dollars, then Ibiza is the flashy destination for you. For those who do not like to party, the island can be your next relaxing beach vacation. If you are looking for a relaxing vacation, I recommend visiting in the off-season. The off-season is between November and April. I visited Ibiza at the end of March and had a wonderful visit.

In this blog, I will highlight my experiences from my trip. If you plan on visiting Ibiza, I believe that you will find some locations or experiences to add to your itinerary. At the end of the post, be sure to read the travel tips as well.

My Accommodations in Ibiza

I stayed in two different parts of the island while I was in Ibiza. I definitely recommend seeing as much of the island as you can.

Hostal La Torre

My first accommodation was located at the top of the island at Hostal La Torre. I can not recommend this place enough. Hostal La Torre is a local resort. They have limited rooms, so it is a quiet and quaint spot to enjoy the Mediterranean atmosphere of San Antonio. The views are beyond breathtaking. Hostal La Torre is located on the top of a cliff that has incredible water views.

Hostal La Torre has a beautiful restaurant that looks out on the water as well. The public can dine at the restaurant, so if you don’t choose to stay here, you should still plan on buying a meal or drinks for the sunset. If you book a couple of nights here, I recommend including breakfast in your package. The breakfast and the views make for the perfect morning to slowly wake up. The rooms were wonderful as well, so again, I highly recommend this location.

Sleeping on a Sailboat

My second accommodation for the trip was a boat on Airbnb. This was such an incredible experience! You might think I am crazy, but sleeping on a boat was an item on my bucket list, so now that is checked off! I have so many great pictures and memories that I will hold on to forever. The boat was located right in the center or Ibiza. It was walking distance to anything you will need – grocery stores, restaurants, cafes, beaches, etc.

The boat was comfortable and spacious. The sailboat has a wonderful outdoor seating area, an inside living area with a table, a small kitchen, two bathrooms, and three bedrooms. You better believe I was listening to the Mamma Mia soundtrack, drinking sangria, watching sunrises, and taking pictures. It was a dream! I spent two nights and three days on the boat. The total cost was about $350 USD. If you are feeling adventurous and are okay with some swaying and creaking from the boat, then this is a great option to make your trip memorable!

Restaurants and Cafes

Hostal La Torre

I mentioned Hostal La Torre earlier but wanted to include it under the restaurant section of this post as well. If you want a fancy and romantic restaurant with incredible views, this is the spot for you. Hostal La Torre is located in San Antonio.

Harinus in Ibiza

My favorite cafe on the island was Harinus. There are a couple locations. I went to Harinus every morning that I stayed on the boat in the center of Ibiza. The pastries were so delicious and fancy. The prices were reasonable as well.

Cappuccino

To find a fancy restaurant with these waterfront views, head to Cappuccino. The locals highly recommend this restaurant, and I thought the food was delicious. It is a bit more pricey though. Click the link to read their menus.

Travel Tips

Most people rent a car when visiting the island of Ibiza. If you want to see a lot of the island, you will need a vehicle. I was not old enough to rent a car, so I did some hiking, hitchhiked once, and rented taxis. There are plenty of taxis around, so that is an option, but I would recommend renting a car if you are able to.

Also, be ready to spend some money in Ibiza. It is not a cheap island. The trip adds up quick with the transportation, expensive restaurants, clubs, drinks, accommodations, etc. The island is a popular destination for obvious reasons though, so I think the vacation is worth the money. I am a budget traveler, so I’m not saying that you can’t travel here without spending a thousand dollars, but you will quickly learn that there aren’t too many cheap restaurant options.

Relax and take time to enjoy the views! Ibiza is more than just a place with movie-like party scenes.

Cheers to exploring and making memories around the world! For information on other travel destinations, check out my destinations tab on my website for more blog posts. Thanks for stopping by!
