Bali is becoming a more popular honeymoon destination for multiple valid reasons. The weather is tropical, there are plenty of adventurous excursions to keep you busy, and the price is right. I went to Bali for my honeymoon in June of 2023 and was so happy with this decision. This blog will inform you a bit about Bali and tell you why I chose Bali over my other destination options.
Weather
If you love the heat, Bali is a great spot to enjoy the sun and warm weather. On the mainland (such as Ubud), you will be in the jungle with more shade and some humidity. Along the coast or on the islands near Bali, you can get the ocean breeze. If you don’t mind rain, the rainy season for Bali is from November to March. The weather stays warm though. The hottest month is usually May. When I went in June for two weeks, the temperature was in the mid-80s with no rain the entire time. Grab your shorts and swimsuit, rent a motor scooter to explore, and find a beach or a restaurant with delicious frozen drinks!
Excursions
Bali has countless adventurous excursions to make the most memorable honeymoon. The excursions here at Bali aren’t like the common excursions you see at numerous other honeymoon destinations. While you can still do the sailing, snorkeling with manta rays, and other water excursions here, there are so many additional exotic activities you can plan for your trip to Bali. For example, you can take ATVs to see the breathtaking rice terraces, visit beautiful temples, visit a wild monkey forest in Ubud, hike up a volcano for sunrise, or have an encounter with elephants at an ethical elephant sanctuary. In Bali, you get a mix of the genuine jungle and the gorgeous coastline views.
Price
The price is right in Bali! If you are from America (like I am), you will be amazed with how affordable everything is in Bali. The price was a huge reason as to why I chose Bali as my honeymoon destination. You can find jaw-dropping Airbnb villas with private pools for around $60 per night, buy meals for $3-$5, purchase lattes for $1-$2, and get a 1-hour long massage for $10! It doesn’t get much better than that… Meanwhile, you are at a place that has spectacular natural views, kind people that are so hospitable, and a new culture that you can immerse yourself in.
Making my honeymoon destination decision
Honestly, it wasn’t too hard for me and my husband to choose where we wanted to go on our honeymoon. We had looked at the most common destinations such as the Maldives and Bora Bora, but didn’t want to spend a ridiculous amount of money right when we trying to start our lives together. If you are looking for a place to relax and enjoy your waterfront villa, the Maldives or Bora Bora could be a spectacular option for you, but we were looking for somewhere with more unique excursions.
We also were highly considering Hawaii. We knew that Hawaii is already really expensive though and would stay around that price point. Bali is now becoming more popular, so we wanted to go to Bali for our honeymoon, since they haven’t started raising all of their tourism prices yet. Additionally, Hawaii is a much closer destination for us, so we figured it would be easier to take a vacation to Hawaii in the future. We were going big for our honeymoon, so we happily entered the airport ready for our 21 hours of flying one-way. Let me tell you, Bali is definitely worth all those hours spent sitting in an airplane!
Conclusion – Bali Honeymoon
Overall, I clearly think Bali should be a contender on your list of honeymoon destination options if you are looking for an exotic trip filled with new experiences and some luxury villa relaxation. If you have any questions about Bali, feel free to leave a comment on this post.
