If a trip to Charlotte, North Carolina is in your future, here are my top favorite activities I did while visiting the city for a day. The artsy city has plenty to offer tourists and locals alike.
Camp North End
Camp North End is an artsy downtown market center. This location was previously a car factory and a military depot, so the plot of land is not small. The extensive space is now filled with coffee shops, food stalls, boutique shops, and a whole lot of art. Camp North End is a wonderful spot to walk around, take in the hipster vibes, and snap lots of photos of the murals that surround the area.
In the winter, they even have a public ice skating rink where you can pay to rent some skates for a cute date, some family fun, or to work on becoming a professional ice skater.
Walk Downtown
Charlotte has a great downtown area. There are countless blocks of restaurants, hotels, and shops to keep you entertained. Charlotte’s downtown area has the big-city feel with skyscrapers, but there are also sections that have cobblestones and local businesses. Happy exploring!
Support Local
When traveling, I like to go somewhere that I can’t find at home. I love to find cute coffee shops when traveling, so I picked a coffee shop to visit. The coffee shop I ended up at was called Coco and the Director. This chic coffee shop is located downtown and has plenty of seating. I definitely recommend visiting. If coffee shops aren’t your thing, there are plenty of local restaurants and shops to choose from downtown.
Conclusion
Although I was only in Charlotte for a short amount of time, I still left with some great memories and pictures! If you aren’t interested in visiting the city center, there are some beautiful lakes with cottages in the surrounding areas of Charlotte. There are some lovely nature options for your trip as well such as Freedom Park. If you end up visiting, I hope you enjoy your time in Charlotte!
