Ponte Vedra, Florida is a luxurious beachside town that is definitely worth exploring! Ponte Vedra is just south of Jacksonville Beach and north of Saint Augustine. This town has famous golf courses, fine dining, beautiful beaches, and great spots for hunting for shark teeth. If a trip to Ponte Vedra is on your radar, keep reading for my favorite spots and activities to partake in!
Visit TPC Sawgrass
TPC Sawgrass is home to two famous PGA tour championship golf courses. Those include THE PLAYERS Stadium Course and Dye’s Valley Course.
the players stadium course
THE PLAYERS stadium course is where THE PLAYERS Championship, one of the most famous PGA tour tournaments, is played every March. The professional golfers compete for the highest purse out of all tournaments. If you’re an avid golfer, golfing here is certainly a bucket list item!
Attending the PGA tour is a memorable trip in and of itself as well. If you are visiting Ponte Vedra in March and take even a slight interest in golf, I recommend buying a pass for the PGA tour. I attended the finales of the PGA tour at TPC Sawgrass in 2025 when Rory McIlroy won. It was such a fun experience watching the professional golfers and joining in with all the fans! The tournament spans over 6 days in Ponte Vedra, so you can buy single day passes or multi-day passes. To kick off the tour, they have a singer perform as well. In 2025, it was Jordan Davis, and the concert was great to attend in front of the iconic 17th hole of THE PLAYERS stadium course!

If you don’t visit around the PGA tour at TPC Sawgrass, consider reserving a tee time to fully experience the stunning course! Tee times are certainly not cheap, and you will need to book in advance. Check their website as prices vary slightly. I booked my husband a tee time for his birthday and rode along to join in on the special experience.

dye’s valley course
The other championship golf course associated with TPC Sawgrass is called Dye’s Valley Course. This is a breathtaking course as well! Tee times are cheaper, since it is not the course played on during the PGA tour, and it doesn’t have the iconic 17th hole, but it is definitely worth the consideration as well!
Even if you are not interested in golfing or attending a professional golf tournament, I recommend visiting the property for the luxurious and truly amazing views. The clubhouse itself is drop dead gorgeous and a great backdrop for a photo op. They have a restaurant in the clubhouse that overlooks the golf course as well called Nineteen. It is definitely worth a visit! They have specialty menus, great happy hour deals, and the best Sunday brunch ever! Go to the Sunday brunch at Nineteen if you can! It is affordable and really delicious.

Relax at Mickler’s Landing
Ponte Vedra has beautiful beaches. Mickler’s Landing is my favorite beach to go to. Mickler’s Landing is the hot spot to find shark teeth, so set aside a couple of hours to search and soak in the rays. I have found over 10 shark teeth in one day and have never left empty handed. I recommend finding the piles near the water with a bunch of small shells and sorting through to find the shark teeth. Keep your eye out for dark black, brown, and white triangle-shaped shark teeth. What a fun souvenir from a memorable beach! Hunting for shark teeth is relaxing for me, so I always look forward to time spent at Mickler’s Landing.

Enjoy beachfront dining
Ponte Vedra has some fancy and beautiful beachside restaurants. If you are looking for a waterfront view, I recommend heading to 1912 Ocean Bar & Rooftop. I joined my family here for a lovely dinner during sunset, and the views and service were unmatched. I recommend the Tuscan octopus & rock shrimp appetizer if they still have it on the menu!

Drive along Ponte Vedra Blvd
The coastal route to Ponte Vedra takes you along Ponte Vedra Blvd. Take this route! The coastal views, incredible homes, and happy palm trees make for a beautiful drive. Play some island tropical music and enjoy the ride.

Plan a day trip
If you are looking to explore a nearby city, my recommendations are Jacksonville and Saint Augustine! In Jacksonville, explore the cute Neptune Beach area, go to a sports game, or walk the historic district of Jacksonville. Read my other blog post for more ideas on what to do in Jacksonville.
Saint Augustine is a popular vacation destination as it is said to be the oldest city in the United States. Walk along the cobblestone streets, find waterfront restaurants, and book a trolley tour or a ghost tour in the city center. Read my blog, One Day in St. Augustine, Florida, for more recommendations for your day trip.
